I recently caught up with co-owner and marketing mastermind behind Boston co-retail space For Now, Kaity Cimo. She runs the space with friend and business partner Katharine ReQua. They opened a year ago and have played home to over 80 brands in that time.
How to Know Who Viewed Your Instagram Video or Story
We’ve all been there: you post a video on Instagram, see the views start rolling in, and then you start to wonder…how do I see who viewed my Instagram videos? Or perhaps you’ve watched someone else’s video far too many times and suddenly panic, wondering whether they can see that you’ve just spent the past 10 minutes watching their video on loop.
Take a deep breath. Fortunately (or unfortunately) it’s not possible to see who’s viewed your videos on Instagram. However, while the answer to “how can I see who viewed my Instagram video” is simply that you can’t, you can see how many views you have and who’s liked your video.
To start, open up your video on Instagram. In the bottom left corner, you’ll see the number of people that have viewed your video.
If you click on that number, you’ll be presented with the following screen:
Here, you’ll find a list of all the accounts that have liked your video.
While there’s no way to see who viewed a regular Instagram video, you can see who viewed your Instagram stories. To do so, simply open up one of your stories:
Once your story is open, you’ll see a few miniature profile pictures in the bottom left-hand corner of your screen. Next to them, you’ll find the number of people who viewed your story. Just add the number of profile pictures that appeared to that number to get the full count.
To see who viewed it in particular, click anywhere on these mini profile pics to bring up a list of everyone who’s viewed your story:
Et voila! Now you can see who’s been stalking you in the past 24 hours. Unfortunately, you’ll never be able to know who’s been checking out your regular Instagram videos, but seeing who’s viewed your story is a good start!
